Institute of Archaeology

The Institute of Archaeology was established in the year 1985, by upgrading the School of Archaeology which was established in 1959. It imparts advanced training in multidisciplinary field of Conservation, Archaeology, Antiquarian law, Numismatics, Epigraphy, Museology, and PG Diploma in Archaeology etc. It conducts professional Workshops in the field of Structural Conservation and Chemical Preservation, Heritage and Environment Management, Epigraphy and Numismatics, Excavation and Exploration, Museology, and Administration and Accounts. It offers interaction in Archaeology and Applied Sciences and provides leadership in curriculum planning.
