About Kinbasket Lake Resort - Canada | Last updated April 16, 2026

Kinbasket Lake Resort acknowledges that it operates business on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of several Indigenous nations, most notably territory of the Secwépemc (Shuswap), Syilx Okanagan, Sinixt and Ktunaxa Nation. We honor the deep connection the Indigenous Nations have to this land and waters, and we are thankful to welcome visitors to a place that has been cared for since time immemorial.

We encourage our guests to learn about and respect the history, culture, and living traditions of the Secwépemc people while enjoying the Columbia–Shuswap region.

Road to Kinbasket Lake Resort
Kinbasket Lake Resort is located 55 km northwest of Golden, about a 40-minute drive toward Revelstoke. The last 5 km from Highway 1 is a scenic gravel mountain road. We recommend keeping your speed below 30 km/h and enjoying the winding route through dense forest — you might even spot a mama bear with her cubs or hear wild birds chirping along the way

Where Nature Meets the Rails
Immerse yourself in the rustic charm of our campground, where the melodic rumble of the CP Rail line brings a blend of adventure and nostalgia. With 10/12 trains gliding by daily, the rhythm of the rails becomes part of the natural symphony. While light sleepers may notice the gentle rumble of passing train, most people love it and some wait for it

Lake Season (July-October)
Majestic Kinbasket Lake starts filling up by the end of June and water level become good enough to launch big boats at the beginning of July. From July through September, Kinbasket Lake transforms into a stunning playground for water activities, including boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and much more.
Explore Kinbasket Lake’s hidden world of trails and terrain during May and June when lake bed is empty of water, perfect for an adrenaline-pumping ATV riding adventure amidst rugged beauty and excitement
